AE and Orange partner to launch Bluetooth loudspeakers

Innovative UK audio specialist Acoustic Energy and communications company Orange announce the launch of a revolutionary hi-fidelity stereo Bluetooth loudspeaker system. Capitalising on both the trend to enjoy music stored on mobile phones and new high quality Bluetooth technology, the system instantly turns compatible stereo Bluetooth enabled (A2DP) devices into the heart of a wireless home entertainment system.

The Orange-branded stereo Bluetooth speaker system uses Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) technology to achieve wireless wide bandwidth stereo over distances of up to 10m. Designed by Acoustic Energy in the UK and leveraging the company’s 20 years experience is compact hi-fidelity loudspeakers, the system uses AE drivers powered by a substantial 20Watt amplifier.

The stereo Bluetooth system has been designed for plug and play ease of use and automatically links to paired Bluetooth devices once in range. Compatible mobile phones, PDAs, PCs or MP3 players with a stereo Bluetooth output can be paired with the new loudspeaker system allowing instant playback on demand. Users simply select a track or playlist, press play and the Bluetooth loudspeaker system creates room-filling hi-fi sound suitable for any room in the home.

For improved stereo imaging the stereo mini-monitor loudspeakers can be detached from the Bluetooth receiver/amplifier unit and separated by up to 2m. The cleanly designed fascia offers a single volume knob and pairing button, and a line level stereo input on the rear panel means even non-Bluetooth devices, such as an iPod or portable CD player, can be used as a source.

Comments AE General Manager, Neil Truckell: “Working with Orange and launching the hi-fi stereo Bluetooth speaker system builds on AE’s commitment to being at the cutting edge of audio technology. With the boom in personal wireless devices, it is safe to say that rumours of the demise of the audio market have been over-stated. We will continue to support AE dealers with an up-spec AE-branded version in the new year, allowing them to capitalise on this fast moving sector.”

Orange’s Director of Devices, Matthew Kirk, said, “Orange is pleased to have worked with Acoustic Energy to help bring to market top quality stereo Bluetooth speakers. With an increasing number of our customers downloading music to their phones, the speakers will allow them to play their music out loud, with the convenience of having no wires.”
